Michael Jonathan Richards
Upon graduating from Skidmore College, Michael Jonathan Richards was one of the five artists invited to participate in the BMI Songwriter's Circle. At the same time, his song, "I Will Hold You Now" was recorded by German star, Nina Falk, following her hit single, "I Will Love Again."
Having gained international momentum, Michael joined Songlink, which eventually led to recording and publishing contracts and the press coverage that followed thereafter.
To explore the country and pop-country market, Michael spent a year in Nashville, TN, working alongside Juno Award Winner and Former SOCAN Chairman, Mel Shaw. During his tenure away, Michael wrote many of his newer works, which encompass pop, country, pop-country, rock, dance, theatrical and inspirational music.
Upon returning to New York City, Michael's original song, "Spark" was covered, garnering him international praise and ultimately winning the coveted International Grand Prix of Composers Award.
In 2021, Michael worked directly on new original recordings with Nashville star producers - Downtown Batterie's Anthony Morra and Blair Masters, of the garth brooks' band.
Following those collaborations, in late 2022, Michael teamed with Kent jacobs and iRoc in securing a publishing deal with mojo music, & Media, a highly-acclaimed multi-media conglomerate, specializing in placing original compositions in film and television.
Michael currently resides in New York City.
